How would you spend the pot?

Want funding to go towards making your show more accessible? To subsidising tickets? To buying software that will transform your remote and digital work? Or maybe you have an alternative, brilliant idea that we’d never have thought of?

Interactive Soup is open to anyone who is involved in making interactive performance in some way, who has an idea that benefits a piece of work or a group of interactive performance makers. We define interactive performance very broadly: if there is both an element of performance and interactivity to it, it counts!

The size of the available pot depends on the number of people at any one Soup event - around £200-250 should be on offer at the average soup.

Look what previous winners have done with the funding!

Submissions are closed for the moment

Pitch submissions for June’s Soup have now closed. If you sent in an idea – thanks! And we’ll let you know soon whether you’ll have the chance to pitch at the Soup in June.

Everyone else: join the mailing list to be the first to know who’ll be hoping for your vote on Tuesday 4th June.

What does pitching involve?

If yours is one of the 4-5 ideas selected, you’ll get 4 minutes to pitch it to everyone on the night. Everyone just gets the stage, a microphone and the time – there are no visual presentations or extra tech. The important thing is sharing your idea!

Straight after your pitch, the audience will get 3 minutes to ask you questions.

People might also come up to you to ask more questions while everyone’s socialising and enjoying the soup of the day.

If your pitch wins the vote, you’ll get the pot to spend as you’ve described.

You’ll also get a spot at the following Interactive Soup to tell everyone how your idea panned out.

What makes a great pitch?

A great pitch answers questions like:

  • What’s your idea?

  • What stage is the project at now?

  • What could you do with the funding that you couldn’t do without it?

  • Have you done anything like this before?

But don’t worry – if the audience still has questions after your pitch, they can just ask you (both while you’re on the mic and afterwards)!

Next Soup coming in June 2024
